Crest Nicholson and its development partners have made significant progress on the site, The country park and playground are open to the public, and nearly 200 homes were occupied as of November 2025, with many more under construction.

Neighbours will have seen that the new pedestrian and vehicular bridges have been built. The bridges are not required to be in place until the 700th residential occupation, however the opening of these bridges will be significantly sooner than originally required. For now, gates and fencing have been installed to prevent unauthorised access for safety reasons.

Once the infrastructure such as the entrance road and utilities is in place. Crest Nicholson will be submitting a reserved matters planning application covering these elements in winter 2026, and the process will then take a couple of years.

The visitor centre itself was constructed early due to limited availability of government funding, before it was required to be opened to the public in accordance with the planning legal agreement.

The Country Park is the highlight for the new and existing community, but there will also be smaller play parks for various ages in amongst the residential areas, as well as a school and local centre. The local centre will have space for convenience stores, other retail and cafe/restaurant space, and we will share the details of who is taking the spaces as soon as we can.

This is a long term project and we will be building the final phases in the mid 2030s.

There is an entrance on Lower Road, or you can enter through Henley Gate itself at the back of Burdock Crescent or Westerfield Road car park.
